Brazil is often regarded as one of the lowest ranking countries for the ease of doing business. It means that entrepreneurs often find it difficult to set up their businesses. However, the numbers did not stop Guilherme Paulus from realizing his dreams and becoming successful at what he does best.
Paulus is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the tourism industry in Brazil. He was quick to take advantages of the opportunities presented to him early in life and set up a business that is among the top in the country.
Guilherme Paulus was born in Sao Paulo and has a degree in Business Administration. When he was 24, he was approached by a government official Carlos Vicentre Cerchiari who wanted to make Brazil a tourist destination and had ideas for the same. During that time, he was looking for someone to perform the groundwork that would help set up his company. Together they set up a company with the name CVC, and Guilherme Paulus was responsible for the day-to-day operations. They had a store in Sao Paulo, and later he became a one-person army when Cerchiari left the company. By that time, he had understood a lot about tourism, and he had the funds to invest in resorts and hotels. Thus, he became an investor and went on to invest in large resorts that would help offer high-level services to its guests. He set up a new company with the name of GJP Hotels and resorts that currently maintains 14 hotels and resorts in Brazil.

In an interview recently, he said that the latest trend that he is excited about is the extensive use of technology in day to day’s life. He believes that technology is transforming business and our way of lives. Guilherme Paulus said that even though he is the chairman of the GJP, he continues to converse and have exchanges with the customers as well as the employees. It helps to know what is happening at the ground level in the company.
